Pay for Goods and Services at CoinPayments Using BitTorrent’s BTT

The integrated payment gateway for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and other liquid coins, CoinPayments now supports BitTorrent’s BTT. BTT is the native coin of the now-decentralized peer-to-peer file sharing platform, BitTorrent which boosts of up to 170 million monthly average users and 100 million (and counting) mobile downloads. With this timely support, millions of users from across the world will now use BTT to purchase different goods and services from hundreds if not thousands of merchants accepting altcoin payment via CoinPayments.

BitTorrent Foundation also announced that they are in discussion with CoinPayments to allow enthusiasts and supports to pay for their ad-free premium services in Tron’s TRX, Bitcoin and Binance Coin (BNB).

Through a Medium Post, BitTorrent said:

“We are pleased to announce that CoinPayments now supports BitTorrent (BTT), enabling millions of customers around the world to use BitTorrent (BTT) to purchase goods and services from hundreds of online merchants. As we already work closely with CoinPayments to accept TRON (TRX), Bitcoin (BTC), and Binance (BNB) for our premium products, today customers can also pay in BitTorrent (BTT) for both BitTorrent and µTorrent Ads Free and Pro products.”

It is obvious that BTT has started off with firm feet. Days after a successful ICO, the proof of stake and pre-mined coin continue to head to the moon, more than quadrupling in the last few days. We expect BTT to continue outperforming other coins in days ahead for the simple fact that it is a working product and its success is a result of years of improvement and resilience as the world’s largest peer to peer market. It was founded in 2004 but has continued to draw criticism and praise in equal measure.

Their brushes with the law and the inability of authorities to completely clamp it down demonstrate how robust and superior peer to peer networks are. While talking to Chain News, the former Chief Strategy Officer at BitTorrent before Tron’s acquisition said:

“It [BitTorrent] consumes 10 percent of all Internet traffic, sometimes even more than 50 percent. Perhaps the biggest achievement of BitTorrent is the feasibility of the concept of a completely uncensored global decentralized network that Nakamoto conceived when conceiving Bitcoin.”

The announcement is barely days after Justin sun revealed plans of BitTorrent Speed whose objective is to boost download speeds. According to BitTorrent Speed white paper, users of BitTorrent will be rewarded with BTT tokens in exchange for “seeding and bandwidth.” It is this incentivizing of users that will surely boost prices and this is what Justin Sun had to say:

“Coming this summer, BitTorrent Speed will be implemented into our popular Windows-based µTorrent Classic client to create a healthier ecosystem and a foundation where content creators can distribute their work directly across the web.”
